Dylan is part of the graduating class of 2025 and is pursuing a Molecular Biology & Biochemistry major along with a Chemistry minor. He joined the Zhang lab in the summer of 2023 after having his interest in organic synthesis ignited from taking Honors Organic Chemistry during his Sophomore year. His interest lies in the utilization of fullerenes as a versatile foundation for the synthesis of multi-functionalized fullerene derivatives with potential therapeutic and/or diagnostic applications in the treatment of different cancers. He plans on taking a gap year after graduation to gain work experience in the pharmaceutical industry before returning to school in pursuit of a PhD in Chemistry. In his free time, Dylan enjoys playing the piano, practicing martial arts, and swimming. He is also the current Chair of Community Service in the Rutgers Peruvian American Student Association.
